Here are some of the bigger TV nominations for Golden Globes – you can see the full list of 2019 Golden Globes nominations here. I’m putting the film and TV nominations into separate posts, just because there are so many, and it’s worth discussing them separately. It will be hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, that was just announced last night. Some of the big nominations:

My big takeaway is that… with Netflix, Amazon Studios and Hulu, there’s a real lack of frontrunner, water-cooler TV shows these days. Pretty much the only TV show that everyone watches is Game of Thrones. I honestly haven’t heard of some of the nominated shows, and I write about entertainment sh-t for a living!! Other notables: it’s nice to see so much love for The Good Place. I’m surprised that Benedict Cumberbatch got nominated for Patrick Melrose, but the miniseries didn’t get nominated. I feel like the Versace miniseries is probably the low-key favorite for many of the big awards. What else? Justice for The Americans, at long last. And the Globes love Hugh Grant.
