Louis Tomlinson has been left distraught over the sudden death of his teenage sister Félicité, who passed away from a suspected heart attack this week at the age of just 18.
It’s the second tragedy to hit the Tomlinson’s in two years after the passing of beloved mum Johanna in 2016.
Louis, now 27, became the head of the family after Johanna died following a battle with leukaemia, when she was only 43.
The former One Direction singer was incredibly close to his mother and even rushed to her side when she gave birth to twins in 2014.
In a statement, released at the time of her death her devastated family said: "It is with immeasurable sadness that Johannah Deakin’s family said goodbye to Johannah in the early hours of Wednesday 7th December 2016.
"Earlier this year Johannah was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukaemia that required immediate and continuous treatment. We respectfully request that the family are given time and space to grieve in private."
Just days after his tragic loss, Louis bravely stepped out onto The X Factor stage to perform a tribute to Johanna, with him revealing it had been her dying wish to see him return to the show.
Speaking after the show Louis said: "That was harder than I ever imagined. I want to thank everyone around me and all of the amazing fans out there that made that so special!"
After receiving a standing ovation from the judges, Louis fought back tears as Simon Cowell congratulated him on the performance of single Just Hold On.
It had been Johanna who first encouraged Louis to audition for the show that led to him seeking worldwide fame as one fifth of One Direction.
Louis has continued to speak about his loss, recently penning a heartbreaking song about his continuing grief.
In the emotionally-wrought ballad Just The Two Of Us, Louis sings that he wished he had died instead of his mother.
In a preview clip of the song Louis sang: "You’ll never know how much I miss you, the day that they took you, I wish it was me instead."
Just weeks after the teaser was released it was announced that Louis’ sister Félicité had died at the age of 18 years old.
The teenager is said to have collapsed at her apartment in London’s Earl’s Court on Wednesday lunchtime from a suspected heart attack.
