Faith arrested as her drug habit is exposed in Casualty?

Over a year ago in Casualty, Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) – trying to put her life together in the aftermath of her husband Lev (Uriel Emil)’s death – met a man called Angus (Jack Ashton) in a bar. She took him home, but after he started acting a little bit strange she called Stevie (Elinor Lawless) in a panic and her friend rushed round to help, getting accidentally injured in the process.

Despite this, Faith later slept with Angus, who subsequently proved that she was right to be wary of him when he stole her money and other possessions.

In Saturday (April 1)’s episode of the drama, Faith is shocked to see Angus in the ED as a patient, only now he’s going by the name Warren.

Last week we saw that Faith has started to rely on drugs to the extent that she’s stealing them from patients, and her drug-addict patient from last week, Kerrel (Eiry Hughes), is back in the department with another injury – but this time she also has a hold over Faith as she starts to demand that Faith supplies her with drugs.

The episode starts with a disturbing flash-forward sequence that shows someone injured, drugs and alcohol being taken and Faith walking grimly through the department flanked by police officers.

Is she under arrest for taking revenge on Angus? Or has the dispute with Kerrel escalated into violence?

In an episode very much centred around Faith she also has to look after a young girl who’s been involved in a terrifying accident with her parents when their car plunged into icy water. As Faith does her best for the girl, she also has to confront an incident involving her own children.

An unexpected arrival in the E.D forces Faith to confront her darkest secret.

It’s clear that Faith has been struggling with a lot of demons from her past, but as violence explodes in the ED everything threatens to overwhelm her.

Will she reach out for help before it’s too late? Or could she be ending her shift behind bars?
