  • He claimed she was ‘disrespectful’ for not replying after he paid for ‘everything’
  • Then went on to criticise her for ‘dressing like she was attending a funeral’
  • Post on Twitter has since gone viral and she has been inundated with support

A woman has revealed the scathing message she received from a guy she went on a date with six months ago.

Amy Bottrill, from London, who received the text out of the blue, explained: ‘I regret to inform you that I have just been roasted to within an inch of my life by this man who bought me one meal in October 2018 and has apparently been seething ever since.’

In the post which has since gone viral, the man asked: ‘Do you know how disrespectful it is to have someone take you out on a date, pay for everything, drop you home, then to never call or text that person back.’

Shocked at the hostility of the message, she questioned whether he’d really been holding a grudge for six months, to which he replied: ‘Nope. Life is too short for grudges darling. However, don’t let that stop any reconciling you may have been considering.’

And it seems she wasn’t the only one surprised at the audacity of the text. “Life’s too short to hold grudges”, says the dude who has definitely been angry about it,’ one commented, while another said: ‘1,000,000% confirmation you did the right thing at the end of that date.’

When Amy asked whether he’d really been holding a grudge for six months, the man in question replied: ‘Nope. Life is too short for grudges darling. However, don’t let that stop any reconciling you may have been considering’

The woman was inundated with messages of support on Twitter. ‘”Life’s too short to hold grudges”, says the dude who has definitely been angry about it,’ one commented

The story then took an interesting turn as after asking how she was, the man in question attempted to pursue her once again.

‘Babe blow the dust off my number and be nice to me,’ he wrote. ‘It took a lot for me to reach out to you after the way you behaved so you should be making much more of an effort right now.’

Despite reiterating that she still wasn’t interested, he proceeded to ask why, to which she explained bluntly:

‘Because we had one fairly awkward date and you didn’t seem to fancy me or want to see me again, now it’s nearly six months later and you think the way to get my interest/attention is by being hostile and entitled and calling me disrespectful? Nah I’m good thanks.’

While Amy reiterated she wasn’t keen to pursue a possible romance with the man, he still tried to win her over. ‘Blow the dust off my number and be nice to me,’ she said

Making it loud and clear that she was interested, Amy bluntly explained: ‘Because we had one fairly awkward date and you didn’t seem to fancy me or want to see me again, now it’s nearly six months later and you think the way to get my interest/attention is by being hostile and entitled and calling me disrespectful? Nah I’m good thanks’

But after being rejected for a second time, things got personal as he then slated her outfit choice – which she clarified was a ‘low cut black dress that had functioning poppers all the way down and four inch heels.’

‘To be honest, you came on our date dressed like you was attending a funeral of someone you didn’t like…quite a contrast to the ways you were dressed in the sexually arousing pictures you were delighting me with prior.’

The post has since been liked 23k times and received thousands of comments – all in support of Amy.

‘Tell him if he didn’t want you dressed for a funeral he should’ve given you LIFEEEEEE,’ wrote one, while another commented: ‘Oof. I’m partially colorblind and even I can see these red flags.’

Another said: ‘How few dates has this man had since that he still remembers who he dated six months ago? He should be the one dressed for a funeral…for his love life,’ while a third penned:

‘”The sexually arousing pictures you were delighting me with prior” is one of the worst things that’s ever been said in the English language, who is this monster.’

‘My friend once went to the pub to break up with a guy she’d been seeing for a couple of months,’ explained one.

‘After she did it, his first reaction was “wow, I can’t believe you just say there and let me buy you an orange juice, knowing you were going to break up with me.” AN ORANGE JUICE.’

Speaking of another encounter, a further said: ‘I once had a drunk guy follow me home and I made him pizza rolls and he passed out.’

‘He reached out a few days later asking me out and when I said I wasn’t interested he told me I was a b**** and couldn’t cook pizza rolls right.’
