Coronation Street stars Alison King, Kym Marsh and Catherine Tyldesley arrive on set to film inquest into Aidan Connor's death

His on-screen sister Carla and sister-in-law Michelle, played by Alison King and Kym Marsh, were spotted alongside Catherine Tyldesley, who portrayed his on-screen ex-fiancée Eva Price.

The women were joined by Aidan’s dad Johnny (Richard Hawley) and his wife Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).

The cast all appeared downcast ahead of what will be upsetting scenes following Aidan’s shocking and heart-breaking suicide.

Before the inquest there is more drama as Johnny discovers that Eva’s baby, Susie, is his granddaughter.

He breaks down in tears and realising that Aidan may not have known, he decides it would have changed everything – and lays the blame for his son's death on a devastated Eva.

In a spoiler video, from scenes set to air this evening, Johnny's daughter Kate sits him down and breaks the news to him.

"My granddaughter and I’ve been living over the road from her for all this time," he says as he struggles to come to terms with the news.

“Eva just handed Susie over to Toyah like giving someone a puppy."

But it's the thought that if tragic Aidan had known Susie was his then, in Johnny's mind, he wouldn't have taken his own life.

Deciding Eva is responsible, he said: “If he knew, it would have changed everything.

“I know my son, I knew my son. A baby would have given him everything to live for.

“And if he never knew, if she kept it from him then she’s got Aidan’s death to answer for.”

Former X Factor star Shayne left the show last month when his character Aidan took his own life following a secret battle with depression.
