Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has revealed when new showrunner Iain MacLeod’s storylines will begin, and it seems we’ll have to wait a few months.
The Michelle Connor actress explained that the new boss – who takes over from Kate Oates – won’t really make his mark until the end of the year.
Speaking on whether it was nice to have a new boss, Kym told Digital Spy: “Well it is because I’ve not been sacked… yet! Everyone always does that thing when you get a new boss, ‘Are you really nervous about being sacked?’ I go, ‘No, not until you just said it, no!’ I’m only kidding.
“It’s always good and it keeps things fresh. That’s the way it goes, every few years we get a new producer and it’s like that with every show. It keeps things vibrant and each producer has their own take and their own spin, which we will see.”
She added: “But Iain’s stories don’t come into play until December.”
Oates departed the ITV soap earlier this year after two years on the cobbles, the producer moving over to the BBC to oversee EastEnders, Holby City and Casualty.
We’ve already speculated over what Iain could bring to Corrie, and despite inevitable change, we’ve suggested a few things that he should keep the same.
