Coronation Street's new Rovers Return owner is revealed

It looks like Coronation Street‘s iconic Rovers Return is going to change hands over the next few months.

It has been reported that none other than Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) will buy the pub and become the new landlord (via The Sun).

It is said that he will purchase the establishment for sentimental reasons, with it being the last place he ever saw his late son Aidan (Shayne Ward).

Digital Spy has reached out to Coronation Street reps for comment.

We already know that this summer will see Gemma Winter reunited with her former flame Henry Newton, and the two plan to buy the pub and turn it into a cocktail bar.

Judging from this latest plot development, it looks like those plans don’t go through.

Whatever happens to the Rovers Return, we’re hoping it doesn’t contribute to the rising price of booze in Weatherfield. Fans were flabbergasted when they heard that a glass of Prosecco cost Tracy Barlow a whopping amount of money.

No wonder everyone in Corrie is so miserable when things cost that much.
