Doctor Tim Finch revealed as a serial killer in shocking Unforgotten finale — and diagnosed himself as a 'psychopath'

The medic confessed to killing teenagers Hayley Reid and Alison Baldwin after being charged with their murder by DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan.

And in a shock twist, Dr Finch, who is played by Alex Jennings, 61, also admitted to killing two more girls and dumping their bodies.

It meant hapless salesman Pete Carr, homeless artist Chris Lowe and quiz show host James Hollis were all absolved of wrongdoing in the ITV drama, which is in its third series.

DCI Cassie, played by Nicola Walker, 48, and DI Sunny, Sanjeev Bhaskar, 54, were brought together to solve the cold case murder of Hayley, whose remains were found under the central reservation of the M1 motorway.

And DNA evidence from a necklace, scrunchie and pair of knickers confirmed the doctor, who later diagnosed himself as a psycopath, had also murdered Alison.

Finch, who admitted to raping both girls before strangling them to avoid being reported, then led police to the remains of two more victims named Natasha and Victoria.

Writer, creator and executive producer Chris Lang, 56, is coy over whether the critically acclaimed series will receive another installment.

He said last week: “It’s quite an ask. So we have discussions about it but I think we’ll wait and see how season three does.”
