Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn was "given the opportunity" to direct a DC movie

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is a staple of Marvel, but he has said that he has had the “opportunity” to direct a DC movie.

Interacting with a fan on Twitter, the director was asked whether he would ever direct a DC movie if the chance arose.

“I’ve been given the opportunity,” he revealed. “But who knows. Maybe?”

While we must take this with a pinch of salt – he does leave it rather ambiguous, after all – it would be pretty interesting to see Gunn go over to the other big comics empire.

Colour us intrigued.

Meanwhile, the director has been hanging out with Star Wars‘ Mark Hamill after the pair got fans excited on Twitter over the possibility of Hamill joining Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

While nothing concrete has come out of their recent meeting, Gunn did tease: “Finally stopped by my neighbor @hamillhimself’s for that cup of coffee we talked about on twitter months ago.

“And some bbq. And cornbread. And cobbler. And OKAY IT’S TRUE I ATE THE HAMILL’S OUT OF HOUSE AND HOME BACK OFF. Honestly, though he’s an amazing guy and I am really grateful to him and the whole Hamill clan for a great Sunday.”

Hamill added: “We have so much in common & talked about EVERYTHING: the weather, gardening tips, favorite recipes, growing up Catholic, our mutual love of dogs, bleu cheese, risqué limericks & the weather again. #FunWithGunn.”

Honestly guys, we need a little more than that!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be released in 2020. Avengers: Infinity War is out now. Book tickets here.
