The 31-year-old singer appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court today after he was charged with raping a 20-year-old waitress following a 2016 solo gig.
Today he spoke only to only to confirm his name, date of birth and nationality as well as to deny the charge.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place after a concert at the Gorgeous club to promote his solo album Waterline at Ramada Park Hall hotel.
As he left the court Williams, from Croydon in South London, picked up one child for a selfie and laughed with fans.
Also appearing at court, co-defendant Jamien Nagadhana, 31, from Hounslow, London, denied assault by penetration in connection with the same incident.
Williams enjoyed chart success after shooting to fame on The X Factor in 2008 and formed JLS with Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and JB Gill.
After the allegations came to light, Williams said he would be stepping back from charity work, stating that press speculation would be "unhelpful" to the charities he worked with.
He was granted unconditional bail until his trial on May 14 at the same court.
