Love Island is an actual BAFTA TV award winner

Love it or loathe it, ITV2’s Love Island has been a huge hit over the last year, and now it has been awarded its very own BAFTA gong.

The romance-themed show took home the prize for Best Reality and Constructed Factual, beating out competition from The Real Full Monty, Celebrity Hunted and Old People’s Home for Four-Year Olds.

Yep, there was no The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea or I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, so maybe it’s not a surprise that Love Island won this year.

Love Island is soon to return for its fourth series, and it’s tipped to be the longest one yet. We don’t know for sure when it will begin, but we have a feeling that it will either be on Monday, May 28 (a bank holiday) or Monday, June 4 at 9pm.

Digital Spy has all the BAFTA TV Awards 2018 coverage you could want. There is a gallery of all the celebrities and their outfits from the red carpet, and a list of all the winners that will be updated as they are announced at the ceremony, before they are revealed on TV.

If you want everything in one place, we’ve also got a live blog that will be updated with all the gossip, winners and more that you can follow.

The BAFTA TV Awards is currently being broadcast on BBC One.
