Love Island stars get their smoke on after bosses banned cigarettes

They weren’t permitted to smoke on camera while filming the latest series of Love Island .

And now stars Dani Dyer and Megan Barton Hanson have already been spotted sparking up following their exit from the villa on Monday.

Dani, who won the show with boyfriend Jack Fincham , was spotted puffing away on a cigarette outside her London hotel.

Dani, who is the daughter of EastEnders hard man Danny Dyer, looked relaxed in a fitted white dress as beau Jack looked on.

The pair also enjoyed a kiss in front of waiting photographers.

Meanwhile, Megan Barton Hanson was spotted sparking up outside her hotel on Wednesday.

The former stripper had boyfriend Wes Nelson in tow as she lit up a cigarette and began inhaling the fumes.

ITV bosses had banned smoking on camera for this year’s series, after they were besieged with complaints about contestants puffing away on camera last year.

The hopefuls were only permitted to smoke on the villa’s balcony, in a bid to eradicate cigarettes from key scenes.

Managing Director of ITV Angela Jain previously revealed that they wanted to eliminate smoking from the main communal areas of the villa.

“We are treating it like smoking in a workplace,” she said.

“Everyone’s used to it at home – you can’t smoke in a restaurant, you can’t smoke at home. So we just created a very clear separate area at the front of the villa.

“There will be a camera on it but it won’t be as attractive a place to go into a huddle and have a conversation.”

Head of ITV2 Paul Mortimer previously revealed that the team had been inundated with messages from viewers who did not approve of the contestants smoking on camera.

He said: “More than 50% of complaints about the show were about people smoking.”
