This Morning's 'fake' windows exposed as set suffers apparent technical glitch live on air

Ever since This Morning moved studios recently, we’ve been watching the show in its almost-identical new digs… and its apparent windows.

However, it seems Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield sit on a throne of lies as a technical glitch exposed the terrible truth – they aren’t windows, but screens!

OK, so we actually knew that, but an embarrassing on-air gaffe nevertheless made things look a tad awkward on today’s show (May 10).

During a phone-in interview with Miriam Margolyes, the ‘windows’ behind Holly and Phil briefly cut to black for a few seconds.

Viewers were quick to pick up on the apparent glitch, some just realising that they weren’t actual windows:

While the camera changed angles with the screens out of shot, the situation was quickly remedied as the view returned within a few seconds.

Still, the show did not get off lightly as the following guest Keith Lemon pointed out the blunder during his interview with Paddy McGuinness.

“It went off!” he noted as Holly tried to shush him. “They had to go close into you. I love that stuff.”

The Celebrity Juice presenter added: “Someone tripped on the plug and it went black,” Holly joking that Keith was the culprit.

During today’s episode of This Morning, Keith also exposed a rather NSFW keyring shaped like a penis live on air.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
