One Show's Alex Jones hilariously mocks David Walliams's big news that he's landed role in Adam Sandler movie

The One Show‘s Alex Jones is certainly making sure that David Walliams doesn’t get an over-inflated ego about landing a major Hollywood film role.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge dropped by the BBC One chatshow on Wednesday (June 13) to promote his new children’s book The World’s Worst Children 3, when another of his upcoming projects came up.

Alex was flabbergasted when co-host Matt Baker brought up that David would soon be working with Hollywood titans Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston on their big-screen reunion.

Not believing her ears, Alex wondered aloud: “What?! How?!”

“What do you mean, how?!” David incredulously clapped back. “I got cast in it!”

Trying to forge ahead, David continued: “It’s a comedy starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, and it’s called Murder Mystery. They get involved in a murder mystery involving a very rich family, and Terence Stamp is in it. He plays my father!”

“You don’t look similar,” Alex cheekily interjected.

“Thank you very much because he’s very, very handsome,” David deadpanned, with Alex smiling as she qualified: “Well, no, you’re handsome… but in a different way.”

After being thoroughly roasted by Alex (in a good-natured way, of course), David tried to make one thing clear: “Anyway, I’m super excited about [this movie]… I just love being able to do all these different things.”

We’re sure Alex is suuuuuuper excited to see your movie, Dave.

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
