The 78-year-old actor was spotted puffing on a cigarette in between takes just outside his trailer.
Paul is currently filming The Very Excellent Dundee in Melbourne – 32 years after the first Croc Dundee film came out.
The film is not strictly a sequel, more of a comedy, according to Empire magazine, and Hogan has already teased that he'll have some interesting co-stars, saying: "I’ve been honoured to have many of my friends and colleagues, whose work I adore, agree to join us for this hilarious new adventure."
His first Crocodile Dundee caper was in 1986 when he was transported from the Australian bush to New York
The last one was Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles in 2001 and he subsequently refused offers to do any more.
Paul recently infuriated fans of the film series by appearing in a short film that appeared to be a trailer for a new film in the franchise.
But the clip turned out to be a advertisement for Tourism Australia.
The new film is being directed by Dean Murphy and its Paul's first time back on the big screen in almost a decade
He has also won many awards including a Golden Globe for Best Actor in 1987 and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1986.
Paul has been married twice and has six children – give with his first wife and one with his second.
His second ex Linda Kozlowski, who he was married to for 23 years, recently moved to Morocco wit her new partner – leaving him "devastated", according to reports.
Even thought they split ten years ago a source told New Idea magazine: "They've continued to share a very close bond and spend a lot of time together.
"Not just the two of them but also with Linda's new husband, and the three of them have become firm friends"
"Paul loves having Linda around and the three of them spending time together, so it will leave a big hole in both their hearts."
