Strictly Come Dancing’s Kevin and Karen put on united front at show’s launch

Kevin and Karon Clifton have shown off their dancing prowess like true professionals at the Strictly Come Dancing launch night – despite new he has dropped her from their upcoming dance tour.

The pair strutted their stuff on the red carpet as they launched the new series of the show, which is set to come to screens in late autumn.

The couple announced earlier this year they would be divorcing after two years of marriage, but would be dancing together in their arena show until the end of the run.

But it is now understood in Kevin’s upcoming Burn the Floor tour next year, he will be dancing with another woman, keeping Karen out of the show.

A source told The Mail on Sunday : "They tried hard to keep dancing together but it simply didn’t work.

"So Kevin took the decision to go off touring on his own."

But the pair put on a united front as they dipped, smiled and posed together along with the other professional dancers at the show’s launch surrounded by crowds of fans and their showbiz colleagues.

The couple were seen dancing alongside Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec on the dance floor, while the other professionals bowed with them after a cheeky routine wowed the crowd.

Also alongside the couple were hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, as well as the judging panel made up of Shirley Ballas , Bruno Tonioli, Criag Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell.

The stars who will be trying their best to take home the coveted glitterball were also in attendance, with Steps’ Faye Tozer and actor Charles Venn strutting their stuff first.
