Alisson reveals how Klopp has helped take him to the next level

Liverpool have been in fine form this season and sit just two points behind leaders Manchester City in the table.

They are unbeaten in the league and have kept seven clean sheets in 12 games which is thanks to Liverpool’s improved defence, including record signing Alisson.

The £65million that Liverpool paid for him was a world-record fee for a goalkeeper, until Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga for £71million three weeks later.

Alisson, who was signed from Roma, has been a huge hit with fans since moving to the red half of Merseyside and has credited Jurgen Klopp with aiding him to improve as Liverpool challenge for the title.

Currently away on international duty with Brazil, Alisson hailed manager Klopp and talked about how he gives the team confidence to achieve their dreams.

Alisson said: "The Premier League is such an intense league. As I’ve said before you have to be always very focused. I’m here in a very high level club, a club able to win titles and doing this at the same level of teams ahead of us. It’s us, City, Chelsea.

"That’s a big challenge for me, being always fit, as I know my team is always at a high level and you have to be ready for it, to be at the same level as your team. I’m growing with what Klopp brings to the pitch.

"He’s very smart, he leaves us at ease to do what we know the most, what we like to do, that is to play great football.

"To build the game from the beginning, from the goalkeeper. That’s so important, the confidence he gives to us on the pitch.

"This way we can go for our goals. We know they are difficult ones but we want to be champions."
