Amanda Abbington opens up about IBS struggle
Amanda Abbington revealed she has got a blood blister on the first day of Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.
The Sherlock star, 51, took to Instagram on Monday evening and shared a worrying photo that caught the attention of 95,800 followers with her foot propped up on her leg.
With the blood blister clearly visible on the sole of her feet, she wrote: “Blood blister… So… dancing in heels, when you absolutely aren’t a dancer, is clearly a blister minefield but, moreover, very much a young man’s game… however, onwards.
“Back tomorrow for more shenanigans!”
Amanda was inundated with messages of assurance as her celebrity pals and Strictly co-stars took to the comment section.

Zara McDermott wrote: “Same here … I’ll rub your feet you rub mine?”
To which Amanda replied: “@zara_mcdermott you have a deal beauty!”
Ellie Leach commented: “I dread to think what my feet look like after today,” while Strictly co-star Jody Cundy winced: “Ouch!”
Blood blisters appear when blood vessels in the skin have also been damaged and they’re often more painful than a regular blister, according to the NHS.
Amanda later shared a video and said that even though her “feet f****ng hurt” she will be back at her rehearsals tomorrow.

She captioned the video: “A little update on Day One. It’s very exciting and lovely and I love it. And everyone is smashing and I’m so happy and excited.”
Speaking in the video, Amanda began: “This is a little update. We had our rehearsals today – the really big one, learning the routine with everybody and we all kind of know stuff.
“I can’t tell you how f***ing amazing everyone is on there. It’s such a beautiful family. I’m having the best time, I’m laughing so much. It’s such a rollercoaster and you’re on it straight away.
“We were in the studio and it felt wonderful. It suddenly felt very real.”
The Strictly star continued: “My feet are f****d. I’m pathetic. I came home like a little old lady. I hobbled in and I looked like a witch. I’m blaming my age and the fact I’m perimenopausal.
“Nothing to do with me not looking after myself or pacing myself. It’s to do with the fact that I’m an old lady.
“Anyway, it’s going to be amazing and the professional dancers – not only are they the most amazing people and the kindest group of people – they’re so supportive and lovely, and generous. They’re just so kind with their compliments.
“I looked like a little carthorse bounding around the studio.”
Despite having the “best time” on the show the actress admitted she is walking around the studio as if she is Yoda but is looking forward to the rest of the show rehearsals taking place this week.
