Amanda Holden shares video of trip to Italy
This morning on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, the latter called into the show to reveal that she had missed her flight to Italy to film Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job.
The Britain’s Got Talent host had accidentally picked up her husband Chris Hughes’ passport while on the way to London City airport, forcing her to book another flight out of Gatwick on the same day.
Amanda said: “Oh! Well I wasn’t supposed to be at Gatwick yesterday, I was supposed to be at City Airport…I got to City Airport and I opened my passport and it was my husband Chris’ passport!
Zoe Hardman, who was filling in for Amanda, replied: “Oh no!”
“It was my worst nightmare, my poor friend who was with me, he had to carry on to Italy, and then I had to get into a taxi, I mean shout out to a lady called Georgie Hicks who just helped me all the way she could yesterday to get me onto that plane.

“I had someone go and get my passport on a motorbike, and it got to me that the plane had taken off, so then I got to Gatwick and then eventually I got to Italy in the afternoon,” Amanda responded.
Zoe gasped: “Goodness me, that’s the sort of stress that gives me goosebumps,”
Amanda continued: “But do you know what honestly Jamie, before I left the house yesterday, I had all my stuff with me in the studio, my husband said, ‘You got the right passport?’ and I went, ‘Do you know what, stop treating me like one of the children!’.
“Then to ring him up and say, ‘You won’t believe it I’ve got your passport” and he texted me later in the day, ‘Can I still talk to you like you’re one of the children?’ I just wanted to kill him that he was right!”

She was flying out to meet her co-host Alan Carr to film the new series of their hit BBC DIY show the Italian Job.
The first series of the BBC One programme saw the presenters buy two Sicilian flats for a euro each and spend three months transforming them into one stunning holiday home.
Earlier this year, Amanda said she can’t wait to get stuck into the next project in Tuscany with the comedian.
Amanda told MailOnline: ‘I’m obviously absolutely delighted that Alan and I have been given a second series of a show that we created together.
“This time I’m considering ditching my nail extensions but I’ll certainly be keeping the lashes!
“I’ve got the Aperol Spritz on ice and I’m being fitted for a new boiler suit as we speak.
“I adore Alan and this job suits us both perfectly. The sweetest thing about it all is that we can continue to raise more money for charities that make a huge difference to the lives of so many.”
