Anthony Hopkins, perhaps best known for the legendary Silence of the Lambs, looked ageless as he stepped out today to catch a glimpse of Salma Hayek’s brother’s art exhibition.

The 85-year-old was making an appearance at Sami Hayek’s art event at Christie’s in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles.

He placed his arm around the aspiring artist’s waist and grinned broadly for the camera during a photo opportunity, while he also posed with Sami’s famous sister Salma and fellow actress Demi Moore.

Anthony attended the event with his younger wife, Stella Arroyave, 67, and cut a casual yet chic figure.

He wore a navy blue shirt and checked jacket but opted for jeans instead of suit trousers, and decided against wearing a tie.

Salma looked ecstatic to be at her brother’s event, placing her arm around Anthony’s wife as she modelled a silver metallic knee length skirt and matching high heeled sandals.

Meanwhile, Anthony enjoyed some quality time with Salma’s billionaire husband, French businessman François-Henri Pinault.

Last year, the Silence of the Lambs star was famously quoted last year as saying that “age doesn’t define me” and that he continues to “think outside the box”.

Onlookers saw evidence of that as they witnessed his smooth complexion and jovial mood at the event today, which Sami named “Frequency”.

Anthony received an Asperger’s diagnosis almost a decade ago, but didn’t let the potential setback define him either.

He went public about the condition in 2017, revealing that a doctor had contacted him to break the news, but insisted: “I don’t believe in it. I don’t feel any different.”

He added to GQ: “Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m ignorant. They call it neurodiversity. It’s a fancy label.”

The condition is said to cause difficulties with social communication and hypersensitivity to certain sounds and tastes, but treatment plans are available to help, including speech therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.

However, the condition is also said to have positive aspects, such as laser-sharp focus, persistence and attention to detail, according to the website Autism Speaks.

Anthony explained: “I’m very focused in one way. I notice when I’m in restaurants, but that’s my behaviour.”

Meanwhile, he looked thrilled to be at the art event, while Sami explained what had influenced and motivated him to create his striking new exhibition.

“I know people from all walks of life, and what I value in any people, regardless of their background or regardless of what they do or if they’re successful in their field or not, I pretty much value authenticity,” he told People magazine.

He added: “I really value people who have the courage to be an individual, and this city [Los Angeles] is blessed with all of that.”
