Barbie was voted as the best film of the year while the King’s Coronation was the most-watched show on TV in 2023.
The BBC’s coverage of Charles’ ascension to the thrown was watched by a total of 12.8 million viewers.
It garnered nearly a million more viewers than the second most-watched show of the year; the final of BBC series Happy Valley, seen by 11.9 million viewers in February.
The Eurovision Song Contest in May was the third most-watched show with 10.7 million viewers.
Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off continues to be a ratings winner with this year’s final drawing an audience of 9.7 million.

Sir David Attenborough was not far behind as his Planet Earth III drew 8.9 million viewers while his Wild Isles came in at number 10 with 8.2million.
The Strictly Come Dancing final, which saw Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola take home the Glitterball Trophy, was watched by 8.5 million.
The BBC’s Death In Paradise was watched by 8.3 million viewers while ITV drama Unforgotten was the ninth most-watched show with 8.2million.
A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Three of the biggest shows were actually non-Beeb and millions watched the King’s Coronation via other channels and services. So it wasn’t a complete BBC wipeout.’
Meanwhile, Barbie was voted as the Best Film of the year by readers of Digital Spy and star Margot Robbie was named as Best Actor.
It’s memorable musical number I’m Just Ken performed by Ryan Gosling won Best Film Moment.
This Morning star and Bake Off host Alison Hammond was voted as Best TV presenter while Strictly Come Dancing won for Reality TV.
Margot has been nominated for Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes while Greta Girwig is up for the Director gong.
