Behind the scenes at NTAs with free booze, piles of food and backstage tensions

It's TV's biggest night of there and the stars have a cracking time when they let loose at the National Television Awards .

The 2020 ceremony was no exception as the attendees were lavished with free booze throughout the night.

Many stars were treated to drinks in their private box, while others were able to make a quick dash to the bar from their floor seats during the breaks.

The boozy bash was documented on Instagram, with stars including Laura Anderson being filmed waving around their glasses of fizz.

There's also plenty of food on offer with guests being served platters of nibbles from burgers and chips to cupcakes.

The stars of Love Island had their own box and filmed each other tucking into a full buffet as they watched the show.

It's also the scene of plenty of tensions as so many stars are thrown together under one roof.

The ceremony is often the scene of much drama as stars who were rather avoid each other struggle to avoid a run-in.

Afterwards, the guests flock to the afterparty where they can dance the night away.

With banging music and more free drinks, the stars end up partying until the early hours of the morning.

Many are seen slinking off home looking worse for wear.

Maya Jama was among those who was seen kicking off her heels at the end of the night and walking to her taxi barefoot.

There were also some injuries by the time some sozzled stars went home.

Dancing On Ice's Maura Higgins fell victim to her killer heels and was left with a bleeding gash on her knee after taking a tumble.

Maura got plastered up pretty quickly with an anonymous helping hand at the event.

"Oh FFS," the starlet complained on social media.

This Morning's team put on a united front for a boozed up lift selfie while the reportedly feuding stars awkwardly dodged each other in the confined space.

Phillip Schofield and Ruth Langsford were at opposite ends of the lift after their feud spilled onto the stage at the NTAs.
