This Morning host Dermot O'Leary has admitted that being a 50 year old with a toddler is "full-on" as he opened up about life as a dad.
Dermot shares his three year old son Kasper with his wife, Dee Koppang O'Leary.
During a conversation with The Times, the TV presenter said: "I turned 50 this year, and being a dad to a three-year-old can be full-on."
He explained that he recently took Kasper to the RAF museum, and it was like an "Olympic sport" for Dermot due to the speed that the little one wanted to go around the experience.
However, Dermot admitted that he loves being parent, and explained that their family make the most of the time they get together.
The former X Factor host said: "I can’t understand those parents who don’t enjoy changing nappies or crawling around on the carpet pretending to be a racing car. Isn’t that the absolute joy of being a parent?"
Dermot also explained how his priorities changed when he became a dad, adding that it put things into "perspective."
He said: "Having a child has changed what I want from life and what makes me happy. Do I need another car? The latest gadget? A bit of vintage Van Morrison vinyl? No, forget the material stuff. What I want is to be with the people I love. Being a dad puts the world in perspective."
Dermot announced the birth of his son with a sweet Instagram post in June 2020.
Alongside a snap of a personalised baby grow, he said: "Welcome to the world baby, Koppang O'Leary… We're delighted to announce that we've had a baby!
"A little boy born on Tuesday 23rd June 2020 (Sankthansaften/Midsummer for you Norwegians) at 8.19 am, weighing in at 6lb 13oz.
"Enjoying the cuddles in the newborn bubble… cats yet to be 100% convinced. Lots of love, Dermot & Dee x."
Dermot and Dee met in 2002 when they worked for the same TV production company.
They then got engaged in New York in 2011, and they said "I do!" just a year later.
Dermot returned to present This Morning on Friday, 8 September, alongside Alison Hammond, following his summer break.
The pair have struck up a strong friendship since hosting the ITV daytime show together.
During his first show back Alison left a make-up stain on his shirt after hugging him.
Dermot laughed and said: " 'I've had the summer of not-ruined tops, and now it goes straight away."
