The 2019 MTV VMAs haven’t quite started just yet and there’s already so much to talk about. Like, do some of these stars realize they’re actually in New Jersey and not in New York City? Also, what’s the deal with the fan standing behind Normani during her red carpet interview? There are so many questions that need answers! But right now, let’s focus on the icon that is Billie Eilish and how she’s out here winning awards already!

During the ceremony’s pre-show, the hosts announced that Billie won the MTV Push Artist of the Year award, which is a great way to start the night. When the winner was announced, Billie wasn’t actually there and accepted the award via video.

Billie’s nominated for nine awards this year, so it’s kind of a bummer that she’s not there right now. But judging by her Insta Stories and her tour schedule, she’s on a flight to Russia for a show tomorrow night, so she’s a little busy, mmkay?

Tonight, Billie’s also up for the Cinematography, Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Visual Effects, and Best Editing awards.

TBD on if she’ll send in any more acceptance videos, but as long as her night doesn’t involve any horrifying missing-fingernail stories, it’s all good.
