His emotional tribute to his late mother Jade Goody reduced head judge Shirley Ballas to tears.
And since Bobby Brazier’s heart-wrenching routine last Saturday, the star says he has been inundated with letters and messages from those who have also suffered the loss of a loved one.
Millions watched as the actor and his dance partner, Dianne Buswell, performed his couple’s choice dance to ‘This Woman’s Work’ by Maxwell – a song that reminds him of losing his beloved mum in 2009 when he was just four.
Bobby, 20, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘There’s been a lot (of letters). I haven’t opened or read a lot of them but I’ve seen there’s been a lot of people writing.’
‘We connected to a lot of people and communicated and translated something and that’s what I wanted to do. I think that’s what happens when you dance authentically and from your heart. I’m really glad that that happened.

‘It was a privilege. I knew that my couple’s choice had to be that. It was daunting before though because that song is perfect. So to touch perfection is daunting, but I’m really, really glad that I did.
‘After every dance, everyone’s always really supportive and complimentary, but especially after last week. I definitely welcomed all the love.’
Since he started on Strictly, Brazier has won over an army of young fans who now regard him as a ‘sex symbol.’
While some young starlets would be shy about such a label, the EastEnders actor confesses: ‘I love it!’
The same goes for the comparisons drawn between him and Sir Mick Jagger. It was in week three when Bobby and Dianne danced a Samba that fans began noticing how similar Brazier is to the wrinkly rocker.
Bobby admitted he is bemused that he is mentioned in the same sentence as Sir Mick, 80, saying: ‘People weren’t expecting my hips to be so hippy, I think that’s where these crazy claims are coming from.’
For musicals week last night, Brazier and Dianne, 34, danced a Salsa to (I’ve had) The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing – along with the famous lift that Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray did in the 1997 movie.
It was one of the riskiest lifts the show has seen in its 19 year history and not even professional dancer dIANNE has ever done it before.
Brazier, 20, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘There’s been a lot (of letters). I haven’t opened or read a lot of them but I’ve seen there’s been a lot of people writing. Bobby, who only had three days to practice for it said: ‘It’s a risk that I really want to take.
However, he did admit that He has dropped Ms Buswell since they have been dancing together.
Bibby admitted: ‘I have dropped her in rehearsal. We both went backwards. I fell on my back, and you’ve been on your front.’

Actor Bobby was only five when Jade, who rose to fame on Big Brother in 2002, died of cervical cancer on Mother’s Day in March 2009.
His father, TV presenter Jeff, 44, single-handedly raised him and younger brother Freddie, 19, with the pair both shedding some tears as they watched on from the audience.
Bobby said of his mother’s death before his performance: ‘It changed my life completely, I’d love to spend a day with her just to see where I get my smile from.’
