South Korean pop star Jung Kook has been added to the list of 2023 Global Citizen Festival headliners.
This will be Jung Kook’s first solo performance at the Global Citizen Festival, which is set to take place in Central Park in New York City on September 23.
The BTS star joins previously announced headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lauryn Hill and Anitta.
Jung Kook said he is thrilled to join this year’s Global Citizen Festival as a headliner, adding, “The festival sheds light on important causes and drives action and I’m happy to take part in it. I can’t wait to perform in front of many people at the Great Lawn in Central Park.”
The 2023 Global Citizen Festival campaign is driving urgent action to End Extreme Poverty NOW and calling on world leaders gathering in New York for the UN General Assembly to address the major systemic issues the world is facing, including the climate crisis, equity for women and girls and the global hunger crisis.
Tickets to the 2023 Global Citizen Festival are free and can be earned by joining the movement and taking action on the Global Citizen app or at www.globalcitizen.org.
The event will be broadcast/streamed on ABC, ABC News Live, Apple Music and the Apple TV app, Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, Facebook, Hulu, iHeartRadio, Instagram, Mediacorp, SABC, TikTok, TimesLIVE, Veeps, X, YouTube, the Global Citizen app and globalcitizen.org.
