Caroline Flack’s close friend Mollie Grosberg says Love Island finale tribute was ‘hard to watch’

Caroline Flack's close friend Mollie Grosberg has opened up on the Love Island finale's tribute to the late TV star, who was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday 15 February.

The winter series of the hit dating show came to an end on Sunday evening, 23 February, where a montage of the presenter's best bits was shown.

The islanders were told about her untimely death off-screen and beforehand.

And, Laura Whitmore, who took over as host for the show, introduced Caroline's best bits as she said: "The past week has been extremely difficult coming to terms with the loss of our friend and colleague Caroline. We're thinking of her family and everyone that knew her at this time.

"Caroline loved Love Island. She loved love and that's why tonight's final is dedicated to her."

Caroline's TV producer friend Mollie, who had gone rock climbing with Caroline just days before the 40 year old's tragic death, took to her Instagram Stories to tell her 29,200 followers about how she felt while watching the show.

Writing over a pink and orange background, she simply said: "That was nice a nice tribute on love island . Hard to watch . She's so beautiful ." [sic]

Mollie, who posted the last ever photo taken of Caroline, previously shared a tribute to the star, whose death was confirmed as suicide in an inquest last week.

She shared several photos of Caroline on various holidays, looking relaxed and happy. One snap sees Caroline kissing Mollie's cheek while several others show her in different swimming pools.

Distraught by the sad news, Mollie revealed she had seen Caroline the day of her death and described an intimate moment with her as she said she "kissed her head".

Mollie captioned the post, which she shared the day after Caroline's death: "I can’t even find the right words to say here and I’m sure it sounds rambly but she deserves a million tributes and more.

"Everyone remember her in the best way. Carrie always had a smile on her face, a naughty laugh and her heart open wide. When she let you in, you were the luckiest and she taught me to love everyone and forgive everyone.

"She forgave so easily and loved so hard and I’ll never ever ever stop loving her. Today feels like it’s not real and I wish it wasn’t. This girl was a force and always said the right thing, always made me feel safe and looked after even during her own s**t."
