King Charles made no mention to his youngest son Prince Harry in his first ever Christmas Day speech and his ex butler has now argued that he had "no real reason" to mention him.
Addressing the nation in his first ever festive speech, the King focused his speech on a celebration of “selfless dedication” which he used to refer back to the late Queen and her “faith in people” as she could touch the lives of others with “goodness and compassion”.
But viewers were surprised when Prince Harry's name was left out of the annual Christmas speech for a second year in a row.
In his speech, Charles mentioned the Prince and Princess of Wales' visit to Wales in March this year, as well as mentioned his wife Camilla as he thanked the British people for all the letters and good wishes they received after the passing of the late Queen.
But former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked at Charles' Highgrove estate for seven years, told GB News: “I think the reality is that for the King, he obviously talked about the Prince and Princess of Wales and their recent visit to Wales, which was a significant moment for the Royal Family.
“I think with everything that's gone on recently, it was probably best not to mention Harry and Meghan.
"They're not working into the Royal Family so there isn't any real reason to mention them as such, because they haven't done anything of significance as working members of the Royal Family.
"So, it probably made sense not to mention them, to be honest.”
The speech was a first in history as King Charles was the first male monarch to have his Christmas speech aired on TV, since the tradition started with the late Queen Elizabeth.
The speech was aired just a couple of weeks after the release of Harry and Meghan's explosive docuseries which saw the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed several bombshells and accusations against the royal family.
This includes how King Charl es and Prince William allegedly reacted negatively when Harry asked for more protection for his wife Meghan Markle.
Royal experts have also claimed that Harry's new Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan "left an irreparable gulf" between the Harry and his father and brother.
Prince Harry was also left out of his grandmother's last ever Christmas speech which aired last Christmas.
In her Christmas speech, the Queen said: “I am proud beyond words that his pioneering work has been taken on and magnified by our eldest son Charles and his eldest son William – admirably supported by Camilla and Catherine – most recently at the COP climate change summit in Glasgow.”
