Clint Arlis dead: The Bachelorette star dies aged 34

Former The Bachelorette contestant Clint Arlis has passed away at the age of 34, his friend has confirmed.

The cause of death is currently unknown for Clint, who vied for the affection of Kaitlyn Bristowe on the hugely popular American dating series in 2015.

Clint's devastated family friend Scott Bayer, who knew him through wrestling at Batavia High School in Illinois, paid tribute to the late reality star in a series of tweets.

Sharing a series of snaps of Clint, he wrote: "It is with a heavy heart and a sense of profound loss that we announce the death of one of the Batavia Wrestling Program's All-Time greats, 2005 graduate, Clint Arlis."

He continued: "Clint was the beloved son of Coach Tom Arlis and his wife, Jamie, protective, loving older brother of his sister, Taylor, and the boyhood idol and best friend of his kid brother, Coach Logan Arlis.

"His legacies as a fierce competitor, tireless worker, a caring influence to younger Batavia wrestlers, a devoted friend and a loving son and brother will resonate far beyond his days in our presence.

"On behalf of all of us in the Batavia Wrestling Family, we send our deepest and most sincere condolences to the Arlis Family during this period of unimaginable heartbreak and grief."

Scott added: "I have come to know Clint over the years since I joined Tom's coaching staff and the Batavia Wrestling Family in the late fall of 2005, after his graduation.

"I have found him to be extraordinary devoted to his family and deeply committed to the sport wrestling at a level few of us have ever reach in our careers," it was concluded.

Clint was eliminated after three weeks during his time on The Bachelor.

Nial Viall, who was in the same season of The Bachelorette before becoming The Bachelor himself, paid an emotional tribute to Clint.

"Just heard about the passing of Clint Arlis. I got a chance to get know Clint a little after our time on Kaitlyns season and I always enjoy are time and conversations," he wrote.

Nick added: "A very kind, unique, and talented person who was taken from this world far too soon."

Meanwhile, former Bachelorette Kaitlyn took to her Instagram Story with an emotional tribute.

"From knowing him on the show, even though things didn't end on the best terms of the show, from his time on the show till now, I've heard nothing but incredible things.

"Clint was very well respected in his world. It's an absolute tragedy about what happened. It's such a huge loss."
