Actress Joan Savage, who starred in Coronation Street and Dad’s Army, has died aged 89. A cause of death is yet to be revealed.
The actress played Celeste Pickersgill, a dancer, in the ITV soap back in 2000.
During her brief stint, she was partnered with Norris Cole (played by Malcolm Hebden) for a competition hosted at the Tower Ballroom.
Ahead of her role on the Cobbles, she appeared in TV series The Arthur Haynes Show followed by Dad’s Army.
In a career which spanned 60 years, she also gained a role in Mr Ronnie Taylor’s Variety Fanfare on BBC Radio and toured as the leading lady in a George and Alfred Black revue called Music and Madness.

During the tour, she met performer Ken Morris who she went on to marry in Blackpool in 1955.
The pair later teamed up and performed a number of songs together such as Side By Side and I got Rhythm.
As a double act, they also starred in a number of TV adverts and shows including The Jack Jackson Show and The Black and White Minstrel Show.
Joan had a taste of stardom from a very young age through her father, the late comedian Norman Savage, who toured around the Northern club circuit.
Aged 12, she went on to join the famous Blackpool Children’s Tower Ballet and Blackpool Tower Circus.
Tributes have flooded in for the late on-screen and stage star on social media.
The British Music Hall Society wrote: “Everyone at the BMHS was saddened to learn of the recent passing of variety, radio, television & musical star Joan Savage.
“Many of our members knew and worked with Joan over the years, & we extend our sympathy & condolences to Joan’s family, friends & loved ones. #musichall.”
