Though he hasn’t published an official statement on the tragic loss, the ‘Hayya Hayya (Better Together)’ singer has made changes on the photo-sharing platform, including deleting a post promoting his upcoming festival A.W.A.Y.
AceShowbiz –Davido returns to Instagram, a little more than a week after the tragic passing of his young son. The Nigerian singer/songwriter has seemingly visited his page to make several changes following the sudden demise of his 3-year-old son Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Though he hasn’t published an official statement on the tragic loss, the 29-year-old’s page has shown some activities, such deleting a few posts and unfollowing several accounts as the number dropped from 1,680 to 1,678 as of the time of this report.
Several posts removed from his page included a pinned post of the flyer promoting his highly anticipated America festival, A.W.A.Y. The festival was scheduled to take place on November 18 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta with special performances from artists like Kizz Daniel, Wande Coal, Lojay, Pheelz, Oxlade, BNXN (also known as Buju), Focalistc and Victony.
No further announcement has been made on the status of the festival, but fans assume the removal of the post means it has been postponed until further notice.
Along with the seemingly postponed show, Puma has opted to delay the release of their collection with Davido following his heartbreaking loss. The “Fall” hitmaker has also deleted the post announcing his first fashion collection with the sportswear giant.
Davido’s son Ifeanyi passed away on October 31 after drowning in the swimming pool of the star’s Banana Island residence in Lagos, Nigeria. “The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital,” a family source told Peoples Gazette after the news broke. “By the time they rushed him to Lagoon Hospital it was already too late.”
The source further detailed, “The nanny was with Ifeanyi and the chef came to join them. The nanny was said to have moved slightly away to receive a call. When she returned, she couldn’t find Ifeanyi and assumed he was with the chef but the chef said he had left Ifeanyi with her.”
After the nanny and the chef couldn’t find Ifeanyi, “they began to frantically look for Ifeanyi all over the house for close to 20 mins until a security guard spotted him in the pool. No one could explain how the boy got in the pool.”
Davido and his fiancee Chioma Rowland, with whom he shares the late boy, were reportedly not home when the incident happened.
