After the ‘Kiss Me More’ hitmaker announces on Twitter her new website and brand named ‘It’s Giving’, Rolling Ray accuses the singer/rapper of stealing his signature phrase.
AceShowbiz –Doja Cat has been making headlines for the past few days and this time, she’s accused of stealing. After the “Kiss Me More” hitmaker announced her new website and brand named “It’s Giving”, Rolling Ray called out the singer as he believed that she stole his signature phrase.
It started after Doja took to her Twitter account on Thursday, August 18 to share a video featuring her voice saying, “It was supposed to give but it did not give what needed to be gave to the highest of giving.” She later attached the link to her website, itsgivingwebsite.com, on which the singer/rapper will be selling her upcoming clothing line or branding.
According to alleged trademark paperwork, the “Say So” singer and her team filed for the trademark last year. That didn’t sit well with Rolling Ray, who went viral back in 2019 after he said, “It’s not even giving what y’all said it was supposed to gave, no, I wasted my money! So, send me my money back, now!” in a video of him criticizing Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich.
Slamming Doja, Rolling Ray accused her of taking his viral phrase without credit. “This b***h said let me steal from this handicap black b***h & copy righted my saying uh whole year ago !!” he ranted while quote-retweeting Doja’s new video. “Lord I’m tired of fighting.”
Some people agreed as one person said, “Doja cat is honestly such a weird a** b***h. First it was Nenobia (bktidalwave RIP) now its Rolling Ray. She literally steals these catch phrases from Black creators and somehow finds a way to make it extremely corny without giving them any credit or recognition.” Someone else added, “Doja really jacked Rolling Ray’s whole saying.”
“Y’all can say Rolling Ray should’ve trademarked it first all you want but what happened to decency…. Doja’s rich and keeps making money off people who barely have shit. It’s not that hard to give at least a small a** percentage or acknowledgment,” another critic tweeted.
In response to the backlash, Doja’s fanbase was quick to defend the star. “I promise you Doja was not thinking about Rolling Ray when founding her clothing line. Please be so serious,” one fan wrote on Twitter. Meanwhile, Doja has yet to speak out on the accusations.
