Legendary singer Dolly Parton, 75, tied the knot with her husband Carl Dean, 79, in 1966. The country superstar’s other half has made very few public appearances over their years and has chosen to stay out of the spotlight.

In view of her 4.5 million followers yesterday, Dolly shared a rare snap of the couple in their younger years.

They could be seen holding hands as they smiled for the photo.

In the unearthed snap, Dolly sported her signature platinum blonde tresses.

She rocked a silk top that the singer paired with a pair of bright yellow trousers.

The romantic post was a promotion for the Dolly Vintage Collage Tee superimposed on Carl, which is currently on sale for $35 on her website.

The legendary singer wrote: “Find you a partner who will support you like my Carl Dean does.”

Dolly’s heartwarming tribute was swiftly inundated with comments from her legion of fans, receiving over 300,000 likes.

Instagram user, This Is Tay commented: “I’ve literally never seen a picture of this man.”

Machine Gun Bebe joked: “I’ve waited my whole life to see what he looks like.”

Dean Rohrer wrote: “Dolly has included more pictures of Carl in her latest book Songteller.”

“Carl Dean is super handsome!” Hunter B Hill added.

Dolly previously honoured the retired asphalt road-paver’s 79th birthday on July 20, by recreating her 1978 Playboy cover for him.

The couple first met outside their local laundromat in Nashville on the first day the singer moved to the famous music city in 1964.

Two years later, shortly before Dolly released her first album, they were married in Ringgold, Georgia, with only her mother as a witness.

In the years that followed, Dolly became a country music icon, while Carl remained out of the spotlight, focusing on running his asphalt business.

Over the decades, the singer admitted her husband has only seen her perform on a few occasions.

“No, he doesn’t like to do that,” Dolly told Ellen DeGeneres during an interview.

“He gets nervous seeing me perform. It’s almost like seeing your kid in a recital. He’s afraid I’ll mess up.”

She continued: “Actually, he has seen me a time or two and it did relax him a little.

“He saw that I do mess up and it’s OK because people are not gonna punish me for it.”
