At this point, Dua Lipa (“Future Nostalgia” singer, fashion queen, and now, Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo) is an absolute denim expert. Her jeanius styling skills have led us to yet another fire ‘fit on Instagram and we need to talk about it right now.
Monochrome outfits are nothing new for Du, as she’s recently taken on menswear by day and Barbiecore by night, but this recent look of hers hits different. The songstress played double duty with casual denim-on-denim as well as some other major fashion trends like Y2K, distressed details, and low-rise pants. Dua posted a photo collage of her attending the Sunny Hill Festival with the outfit.
Eat your heart out Ed Hardy fans — Dua’s parrot-adorned tank is giving us the same vibes as the sparkly noughties brand with a 2022 sustainable twist. The graphic printed, white cami the singer is wearing comes from Conner Ives. Available later this year according to the brand, the t-shirt camisole top is reconstituted — meaning it’s made of recycled clothing and fabric. If you absolutely can’t wait for the brand to drop the tank, grab a top like this at your local thrift store in the spirit of Dua’s sustainability efforts.
Wanting to keep warm during those cool festival nights, Lipa added on an oversized denim jacket with distressing details at the cuffs and shoulders. Large pockets and silver buttons tied the jacket to the long flare jeans that Dua had riding at her hips in a low-rise style. It’s the most fashionable, casual version of a Canadian tuxedo (aka denim on denim, à la Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in the ‘00s) that we’ve ever seen. Dua wore her long dark hair straight down her back in one photo after having it slicked back into an updo for her mirror selfie.
