Eamonn Holmes took to social media and detailed his bedtime battle as he reached out for help. The GB News presenter has been plagued by personal struggles and health issues over the past few weeks.
The 63-year-old was forced to take a break from his role on GB News after fracturing his shoulder, and then had to face the heartbreaking news of his beloved mother Josie’s death last month.
In addition, the former This Morning presenter has been dealing with insomnia – where people have difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep for long enough to feel refreshed the next morning.
Eamonn explained he needed to reach out to others so he didn’t feel like he was “suffering alone”.
Breaking his silence in view of his one million followers, he took to Twitter and shared a candid message at 2.50am.
Eamonn wrote: “I try not to constantly go on about #sleepless nights …. but if u know u know ….. whatever the reason. Let’s just say I’m suffering a particularly long one tonight and I find reaching out makes me and many of u feel that we r not suffering alone.”(sic)
Social media users flocked to comment on the post as many people offered their support to Eamonn.
AKA tweeted: “I hear you & suffer most nights, sorry you’re having a badder than bad one.”
Eamonn replied: “Thank u. I feel your pain.”(sic)
Lainey commented: “Wide awake here in Belfast, you’re not alone.”
The GB News presenter remarked: “Thanks Lainey… improvement to you too x.”
William wrote: “I sympathise with you Eamonn. I have had insomnia for years! How you manage the breakfast shifts at GB I’ll never know.”
To which the broadcaster said: “Those hours may be the reason.”
