Eastenders legend Gillian Taylforth looked positively glowing as she stepped out with her twin grandchildren for the first time on a family outing this week.

The 66 year old appeared ageless as she made an appearance with her baby grandchildren for their first day out with their grandma.

Gillian was also joined by her two children Harrison and Jess, as they enjoyed al fresco drinks at an eating establishment.

The Eastenders star looked worlds away from her character Kathy Beale on the BBC soap, as she dressed up glamorously for the outing in a black and white printed summer dress.

Avid yoga fan Gillian showed off her toned and tanned figure in her stylish ensemble as she paired a large black tote and matching loafers with her outfit.

The actress, who looks incredibly youthful, said recently that “age is just a number" as she spoke about her committed health and fitness regimes.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, she said: “Age is just a number and as long as I’m fit and healthy and enjoying myself, I’m happy.

“Perhaps that’s what helps me to look a certain way. I like to have fun. I always tell my daughter, Jessie, ‘This is not a dress rehearsal — you’re not going to have this day again.’”

The star attributed Zumba classes as one of the ways she stays fit, as she continued: “I’ve always looked after myself fitness-wise. And I’ve always exercised and get frustrated when I can’t. I love power walking.

“When I get back to my dressing room [when out on tour], I get out my weights from my tour bag and do those for a bit. It all helps!

“I started doing Zumba classes three or four times a week and I love it. It’s toned me up all over and I’ve lost weight from my legs, waist and hips. My legs are much better since I started doing Zumba.”

Gillian also shared that she follows a “sensible” healthy diet that includes a limited amount of alcohol.

She added: “I drink lots of water throughout the day. I love salad, fruit and vegetables and chicken. We don’t eat many potatoes in our house – I’m a fruit bat and ‘veggieholic’.

“I don’t like to eat late unless I’m going out for dinner with someone. But I will have a glass of wine when I go out with friends. I don’t deny myself, I try and do things sensibly.”
