EastEnders co-stars Danielle Harold and Jamie Borthwick looked very cosy on a night out this week, sparking speculation of a romance playing out in real life between the pair.

The onscreen couple, who portray Lola Pearce and Jay Brown on the BBC soap, were seen enjoying their night out together as they attended the Broadcast Awards.

Danielle, 30, posted several clips from her time spent with Jamie at the star-filled event, which saw the pair laughing and staying by each other’s side throughout the evening.

Among the posts shared on Instagram Stories, Jamie and Danielle were seen in one photo standing close to one another as they posed for a mirror selfie, with Jamie lent over Danielle’s shoulder.

The actors were dressed in smart ensembles, as Danielle wore a white mini dress with a black blazer and matching heeled sandals, while Jamie wore a black suit and tie.

Danielle captioned: “My love”, adding a heart emoji, leading to suspicion of a possible romance between the soap stars.

Danielle and Jamie have been at the centre of an emotional storyline together on EastEnders, as Lola is dealing with having a terminal brain tumour.

Despite the tragic diagnosis, Jamie proposed to Lola and the pair married last month in bittersweet scenes.

Actor Jamie recently discussed his close relationship with Danielle, telling The Sun: “We have a laugh on set, we know each other inside out, and we know what makes each other laugh.

“I’ve got Danielle’s back, and she’s got my back; we’re extremely close."

He added: “We know when it’s time to be serious, we know when it’s time to be silly."

Speculation of a romance between the actors comes after Danielle wowed fans with a bikini selfie posted this week.

Th star looked worlds away from her EastEnders character as she had her hair styled in glamorous waves, and wore a black bikini top with a fishnet cover-up.

Danielle and Jamie spoke further about their close bond last October as they attended the Inside Soap Awards.

Jamie said at the time: “We’ve known each other for 15 years. It’s not like we ‘get on’.

“We’re just so comfortable and it just makes the whole thing so much easier, so it’s really nice.”

Danielle added: “Yeah, we do get on really well. We’re really close. It makes it a lot easier.”
