EMILY PRESCOTT: Uh oh uh oh uh ho… Brit Awards organisers forced to cancel planned Beyonce spectacular after the performance was set to cost them more than £500,000
She could have been the star of the Brit Awards last night but bosses ditched the idea of inviting Beyonce – because her demands would have landed them with a £500,000 bill.
It was hoped the US superstar would appear as the stand-out female performer alongside other big-name acts such as Harry Styles, Stormzy and Lewis Capaldi.
But Beyonce, 41, and her team wanted several suites at the luxurious Central London hotel the Corinthia, as well as an entourage of around 40 to set up what would have been an unforgettable show.
One source said: ‘The whole production would have cost a fortune.
‘Beyonce and her crew needed a huge team – this would have meant extra flights, accommodation and other costs. It became something that was just not justifiable in the end.

High-level discussions had taken place last month between Beyonce’s team, her record label Sony and Brits bosses
‘It was a huge shame, but the bosses thought that the line-up was already brilliant.’

Another source said: ‘It was obvious that having the world’s biggest superstar to attend the ceremony would have been a huge coup.’
But with everything totted up, it was decided she was just too costly.
However, Beyonce didn’t miss out on the Brits completely – she won Best International Artist and International Song of the Year for her hit, Break My Soul. The gongs added to a glittering few days for the The Crazy In Love singer who last week made history after she picked up four Grammys – taking her total to 32. She overtook Hungarian-British conductor Sir Georg Solti, who held the record for more than 20 years with 31 Grammys.
Beyonce’s striking videos and powerful voice have propelled her to almost 40 million album sales, making her one of the bestselling singers in history.
