The producer of popular TV shows Euphoria and The Idol tragically died on Sunday after suffering a 'medical emergency' while driving.
Forty four year old Kevin Turen was in his Tesla with his 10 year old son when he became unwell.
His brave son reportedly took control of the car, which was on autopilot, steering it to safety on the side of the highway before dialling 999. Despite being rushed to hospital, Kevin sadly didn't survive.
Edward, Kevin's dad, and his friend Michael Heller told US website TMZ that Kevin was driving his son home from a tennis match when the incident occurred. They were quick to confirm that drugs and alcohol were not involved in Kevin's sudden death. But the authorities are still investigating what could have caused the medical emergency.
Edward confirmed the sad news of his son's passing in a statement to Deadline, saying: "Kevin was so incredibly special, this world is going to be less without him."
Jay Penske, CEO of Penkse Media Corporation and a close friend of Kevin, also shared a heartfelt message. He said: "Despite his many achievements in Hollywood, Kevin's greatest passion was his family and friends.
"He was so proud of his children. He and his wife, Evelina, were resolved that their children grow up with great values and ensured they make a difference in the broader world.
He continued, "Our collective heart breaks for them, and we all feel such a profound sense of loss. We will miss Kevin so much, and this town lost one of its brightest rising stars today."
Born in New York City, Kevin studied cinema at Columbia University and made his producing debut in 2005 on the indie film Wassup Rockers, directed by Larry Clark.
He went on to produce films like Operation Endgame, which was written by Euphoria's creator Sam Levinson. Kevin worked with Sam again on Euphoria and The Idol, but also on movies like Assassination Nation and Malcolm and Marie.
Back in July, Euphoria star Angus Cloud died at the age of 25. He was made famous for his role as Fez on the hit HBO show.
His family released a statement to TMZ, revealing that Angus had 'intensely struggled' with the recent death of his dad.
