EXCLUSIVE: ‘That was my form of revenge’: BGT’s Francine Lewis reveals she doesn’t regret exposing her husband’s ‘cheating’ live on air as the support she received helped her ‘heal’ and insists they’re in a ‘positive place’
Francine Lewis has revealed that she doesn’t regret exposing her husband’s ‘cheating’ live on air as the resulting support she received helped her ‘heal’.
The Britain’s Got Talent star, 47, hit the headlines in April last year after accusing partner Joel of texting another woman during an appearance on GB News – though she has since forgiven him.
And in an exclusive interview with MailOnline ahead of her new TV show series Deep Fake Neighbour Wars, Francine admits that her speaking out was her ‘own form of revenge’, adding that her and Joel are in a ‘much better, positive place now’.

Though she transforms into reality star Kim Kardashian with the help of deep fake technology on her new ITV show, Francine admits that she wouldn’t do her own fly-on-the-wall series like Kim because she’s a ‘private person’ – adding that the furore last year ‘wasn’t me’.
She told that despite the fact a reality show may create ‘such good TV’ because everyone in her household is ‘such a character’, Francine explained: ‘I do like keeping my life private, to be honest.
‘You know, obviously I had a recent situation last year, and it wasn’t me because I’m such a I’m quite a private person. I don’t ever air my dirty washing.
‘I know no one ever knows what’s really going on. But actually sometimes it’s kind of nice that people see that you’re real and that you know, your life’s not perfect either. So I think that’s quite important as well.’

On whether she regretted speaking about her husband’s betrayal so publicly, Francine continued: ‘I don’t regret what I did because at that time, it really helped me.
‘The outpour of support that I got, and the messages and people who have been through much worse, kind of helped me heal.
‘You know, I did message a lot of them back and was nice to them too. I felt like “blimey, it’s not just me going through this, look at this person, it’s much worse” and that really helped me.

‘Also I was at that point I was so devastated and I feel like that was my form of revenge, I didn’t seek any other form of revenge, I did nothing else, it was just that one moment of madness but I didn’t sit on regret.
‘The only regret I had was the children in that situation, but no, I didn’t regret it at all.’
During the interview at the time, she claimed that her Joel had been unfaithful with ‘his best friend’s girlfriend’ and she only found out about it the night before.
The impressionist went on to say that after getting everything out in the open, she and partner are better than ever, explaining to MailOnline: ‘There was no gossiping around it, I just got it out there, everyone knew and that was it. And we’re in a much better, positive place now so it’s all good.
‘Everything happens for a reason and I’m in a good place, definitely.’

And while her private life is now going great, so to is her professional career, with Francine about to burst onto screens once more with brand new comedy show Deep Fake Neighbour Wars which uses AI technology to recreate famous people.
The comedy, which will air on ITV’s new streaming service on 26 January, will present the AI-generated famous faces, who have a ‘spot-on’ likeness to their real counterparts, to an audience in the UK’s first ever deepfake comedy.
Speaking about the show, Francine enthused: ‘This is something completely off the scale! Obviously when we filmed it we just film it just being you but when we watched it back, I thought “oh my God, this is next level of freakiness!”‘
Moving forward: ‘There was no gossiping around it, I just got it out there, everyone knew and that was it. We’re in a much better, positive place now so it’s all good’
‘Kim Kardashian is my absolute icon, I love her and now the fact that I’m her, onscreen, it’s just incredible! I’m hoping she’ll get in touch to lend her support!’
And while she’s happy to replicate Kim on screen, Francine reveals she has no plans to copy Kim’s killer body including her famous rear.
Stating that while she was open about having breast surgery which left her ‘terrified’, she’s never go as far as getting something like a Brazilian butt lift, remarking: ‘I’ve never put anything in my bottom and never will, the breasts was as far as it went.
‘And you know, after having that scare that I had, don’t think I could do it. That’s why I work so hard in the gym, because you can achieve the nice pert bum and a nice tummy. You just just have to work a little bit harder.’

However, the star hasn’t ruled out having a mini facelift down the line as she’d prefer it to getting lots of filler and Botox.
Francine said: ‘I will say though, I’d say if I got to like 60 and I think you know what, I’ll have a facelift, maybe a mini one who knows? I’m not ruling that out. Because sometimes I think it could look better than when you pump your face with all this filler and Botox.
‘I’d only have a mini facelift if I got to a certain age and I felt like everything’s moving south and sagging – maybe something like that, but nothing else.’
For now though, Francine has nothing to worry about, with the TV personality recently looking incredible in bikini snaps as she celebrated her 47th birthday.

It’s hard to believe that it was an incredible 10 years ago that she burst onto screen on Britain’s Gt Talent with her hilarious impressions of Stacey Solomon, Lorraine Kelly and Cheryl.
Speaking about finding fame a decade ago, she shared: ‘It’s unbelievable, I can’t believe that. It’s gone so quickly.
‘It’s been such an amazing 10 years. I’m so happy I did that show. You know because it was a big thing. I was like at the time, “do I do it? Oh my God, I can’t do this!” I just didn’t feel the confidence at that time. And then once I’d done it, I think everything, kind of my ambition, my confidence… came back. It was just the best thing!’
Deep Fake Neighbour Wars is available to screen now on ITVX.
