That same year Mathieu also had a role in Amélie.

Outside of France, the César Award winning actor, director and writer is best known for appearing in Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element.

In 2005 he appeared alongside Geoffrey Rush and Eric Bana in Steven Spielberg’s historical drama Munich.

Fans of the hardworking French actor can also watch him on Amazon TV in five seasons of The Bureau, a spy-centric series.

An avid motorbike enthusiast, the Hollywood heavyweight developed a love for the athletic activity when he moved to Los Angeles in the 2000s, according to the Deadline report.
