Fatal Attraction star Glenn Close, 74, totally stole the show at the Oscars 2021 by taking part in the Da Butt challenge. The actress, who has been nominated for an Academy Award eight times, stunned viewers when she spontaneously got up and twerked during the ceremony.
The amazing moment took place when Lil Rel Howery asked her if she recognised the track being played by DJ Questlove.
Glenn, who stunned in a navy gown covered in sparkling embellishments, got up from her seat to shake her bum and sway her hips.
The acting legend was applauded by her fellow guests at the ceremony, as she flaunted her rear with her dance moves while shouting “Da Butt”.
The room could be heard bursting into fits of laughter, while viewers took to Twitter to praise Glenn for brightening up the 93rd Academy Awards.
Glenn also impressed fans as she shared her knowledge about the song.
She said during the ceremony: “Yes, Da Butt, I know that, Da Butt.
“It was a classic song by the great Washington DC GoGo band E.U. and shout outs to Sugar Bear and the Backyard Band!”
Fans and famous Twitter users took to the micro-blogging site to gush over the Hillbilly Elegy actress’ moves.
One person wrote: “By far best part of #Oscars #GlennClose giving props to DC GoGo E.U. @SugarBearEU Backyard Band #dabutt.”
Another added: “I am deceased, because Glenn Close just killed me. Just bury me somewhere nice, y’all…”(sic)
A third fan shared a GIF of Glenn dancing and wrote: “This was the best moment of the night!”
“Glenn Close just won her first Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film,” a fourth fan quipped of the moment.

“Glenn Close may not ever win an Oscar, but she just won the Oscars,” a sixth fan commented.
A seventh person gushed: “I may have just witnessed one of the greatest moments in #Oscars history.”
It comes after Glenn made history as she didn’t win the gong for a record-breaking eighth time.
The star became the second person ever to reach the record – and the first female.
The only other actor to achieve the stat was the late British star Peter O’Toole.
Glenn has missed out on winning after being nominated for this year’s Hillbilly Elegy, The World According to Garp in 1983, The Big Chill in 1984, The Natural in 1985, Fatal Attraction in 1988, Dangerous Liaisons in 1989, Albert Nobbs in 2012 and The Wife in 2019.
Other actresses to repeatedly miss out on awards are Amy Adams, Thelma Ritter and Deborah Kerr.
The stars have all been nominated for six Oscars each, but none have been able to pick up the prestigious acting gong.
