Gogglebox’s Ellie Warner ‘unlikely to return to show soon’ after boyfriend is hit by car

Gogglebox star Ellie Warner is "unlikely to return to show soon", according to reports.

Source have claimed that the TV favourite, who appears on the Channel 4 programme alongside her sister Izzi Warner, is focused entirely on supporting her boyfriend Nat Eddleston and remaining by his hospital bedside.

Recent reports have also claimed the star has been "keeping vigil".

Nat suffered a broken back, neck, and two collapsed lungs after he was hit by a car following a night out in Leeds last month.

Still in intensive care, the plumber is thought to still be in a critical condition.

Ellie, 31, and Izzi, 29, haven't returned to Gogglebox since the crash happened, with one of the former's friends claiming "nothing else matters" right now.

"Channel 4 take duty of care really seriously," the friend reportedly told The Sun.

"Obviously Ellie and Izzi are two of the most loved regulars on the show but it wouldn't be right for them to have to film a light-hearted show when Nat is in such a critical condition."

"Producers have made it clear there is no pressure to return to filming and they can take all the time they need," the source added.

OK! has contacted Ellie's representative and Channel 4 for comment.

Nat was walking home after a night out in the Halton area of Leeds on March 18, when he was hit by a car.

The plumber was taken to hospital in an ambulance as a statement from police at the time said "the pedestrian remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and enquiries into the incident are ongoing".

While Ellie hasn't publicly spoken out about the incident or her boyfriend's condition, sources also told the publication that the whole family were in shock and rallying around at Nat's bedside.

West Yorkshire Police also appealed for witnesses as they investigated the "serious road traffic collision" in the area.

The social media statement said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in the Halton area of Leeds involving a white Seat Leon and an adult male pedestrian.

They added: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, which occurred on Selby Road near to The Woodman pub at around 00:10 this morning (Saturday 19th March 2022)."

Following their absence from the show, fans have been flooding social media with support for Ellie and Izzi, sharing their luck and love as one fan wrote after the latest instalment: "I hope Nat is ok, we miss you Ellie and Izzi."

Gogglebox continues Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
