Bosses at Good Morning Britain are reportedly keen to "offer Susanna Reid new shows" at ITV, after tensions are said to have been rising on the set of the flagship morning news programme.
ITV are said to be working on a number of "phenomenal programming ideas" in a bid to ensure Susanna stays with GMB, after there were said to be fears that she would "quit" due to a number of embarrassing blunders made by colleagues off-screen.
The 52 year old presenter was said to have been "left furious" after several spelling mistakes were made on the on-screen text in recent weeks, and a source claimed that she had "made her feelings very clear" to show bosses about the errors.
It's now been reported that Susanna is at the centre of ITV bosses' plans for inspiring new projects and segments on Good Morning Britain.
A source told the The Sun: "GMB has some phenomenal programming ideas built around Susanna for later this year, all ones to which she has typically very proactively contributed to and helped build and inspire, so why would she walk away from them?"
OK! has contacted ITV and Susanna's representative for comment.
One of the recent mistakes on Good Morning Britain, said to have incensed Susanna, was the misspelling of news correspondent Ben Chapman’s name, who was reporting live from war-torn country, Ukraine. Ben’s surname was spelt "Champan" on-screen.
It comes after the word “remembering” was also misspelt while the show was covering a particularly sensitive story about a death.
In another faux pass for the show, a date shown on the screen was wrong.
A source said: “Susanna is totally professional and just wants high standards — as Piers [Morgan] or any other presenter would have done."
Susanna is the main anchor on Good Morning Britain, presenting alongside the likes of Richard Madeley and Ed Balls, following the departure of her former co-presenter, Piers Morgan, in March 2021.
Piers's exit came after a heated debate with weatherman Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle, which led to Piers storming off live on-air.
It was later announced that Piers had quit the show in a statement released by ITV that said: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
"ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."
The news came after more than 41,000 viewers complained to Ofcom following his remarks about the Duchess of Sussex.
