Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have still not decided whether to attend King Charles’ coronation in May, according to reports.
Last week, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to the coronation in May and that the rest of the royal family are "fully expecting" the two to make an appearance at the event, despite the ongoing feud between Harry and his relatives.
Harry and Meghan are having a difficult time deciding whether or not they should go though, the Mirror reports.
This is because Harry allegedly wants a summit with his father and brother ahead of flying to the UK from his family home in California.
A source close to the couple told the publication: “Harry has been very clear and his position hasn’t wavered – he isn’t going to come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral.
“He’s said he wants to reconcile with his family and it’s their call, but so far nothing has changed.”
If Harry and Meghan do decide to attend the coronation, they will not be invited to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Government advisers are putting plans in place in case Harry decides to attend the coronation in a 48-hour whirlwind trip.
One of these scenarios that they're planning for is that Harry may come to the event on his own, with Meghan staying at home in California. The coronation presents a clash for the couple, as their son Archie’s fourth birthday is also on Saturday 6 May.
If Harry does attend, officials are said to want to reduce the chance of him and Prince William being together in public, with the brothers reportedly set to be seated separately in Westminster Abbey.
A source told The Express: "They’re on the list and planning is well underway to make sure the proceedings run as smooth as possible – without any drama".
The UK will see its first coronation in 70 years, celebrating the nation’s new king, with the official ceremony on Saturday 6 May and events taking place throughout the weekend.
Should he accept an invitation to the coronation, Harry’s appearance at the event will mark his first public event with William and Charles, following the release of his bombshell autobiography Spare.
The memoir, which dropped last month, revealed details from Harry about his turbulent and deeply fractured relationship with William.
The memoir became the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever, with the English language edition selling more than 1.4 million copies on its first day of publication.
The book proved to be highly controversial, bringing a series of attacks on the Royal Family, with criticism directed towards William and Queen Consort Camilla as well as Charles and Kate Middleton.
In the book, Harry claimed he was physically attacked by William and knocked to the floor during a confrontation over Meghan.
It was reported last month that Charles and William “haven't spoken to Prince Harry” following the book's release.
