Harry reveals time Meghan ‘walked out’ after fight when he ‘cruelly snapped’ at her

Prince Harry opened up about the moment when Meghan walked out on him after he cruelly snapped at her in the middle of a relaxing evening together in his new memoir.

The Duke of Sussex's memoir Spare, which was released today, has been filled with bombshells and revelations about this family, but it has also included the Prince putting himself in a vulnerable position as he talks about difficult moments in his life, for example when he was at the brim of tears when Sir Elton John started to sing at his mum's funeral.

But also from his adult life, as he explained when Meghan walked away from him after he took a comment too far in the midst of a date night.

Harry wrote that after he and Meghan realised that they had the same favourite food – roast chicken – they decided to have a date night where Meghan taught Harry how to cook the meal.

They had an evening of cooking together as they opened a bottle of red wine and listened to music before their cosy night in took an unexpected turn for the worse.

He explained: "Meg said something I took the wrong way. It was partially a cultural difference, partly a language barrier, but I was also just over-sensitive that night. I thought: 'Why is she having a go at me?'"

He continued to say that he snapped "harshly and cruelly" at Meghan before she soon left the room and left Harry alone in the kitchen.

Fifteen minutes later, he found Meghan sitting quietly in the upstairs bedroom.

Meghan calmly asked Harry where the anger had come from, and if he had ever heard a man speak to a woman like that during his childhood, to which Harry answered with a simple nod.

She went on to explain to Harry that she would not tolerate a partner or a co-parent to talk to her like Harry had just done.

"We both knew my anger hadn't been caused by anything to do with our conversation. It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be excavated, and it was obvious that I needed some help with the job," Harry explained.

He went on to tell the reader and Meghan that he had tried therapy after his older brother, Prince William, told him to go, but said it hadn't worked as he hadn't found the right therapist.

Meghan simply told Harry to try therapy again as the argument seemingly came to an end.

Harry has been undergoing therapy for over five years in a bid to improve his mental health and overall wellbeing.

The dad-of-two has spoken about undergoing therapy and has been vocal about the advantages of speaking out about your struggles.

In the third episode of the documentary The Me You Can't See, Harry was filmed undergoing a therapy method called Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

During the therapy session, Harry became aware of his negative feelings towards the city of London, and realised the only time he felt a sense of relief was when he travelled outside of the UK, to places such as Africa.

In his memoir, Harry also revealed that he called his therapist before calling Meghan after a fight with his brother allegedly turned physical.
