Helen Skelton recently opened up on why she had a ‘face like thunder’ when professional dance partner Gorka Marquez, 32, spoke about her private life on air. 

The discussion comes after Helen was seen live on air pulling an unimpressed expression as Gorka spilled about how the TV presenter, 39, had been having a ‘rough time’ recently with her split from Richie Myler.

The professional dancer in an unprompted speech live on air wrapped a supportive arm around Helen and said ‘I know you’ve been having a difficult time and I know you may feel like you’re not beautiful or good enough or anything.’

He continued with ‘But if you don’t believe in yourself, I believe in you. Everybody here believes in you.’ 

After his unexpected speech the audience started to applaud and fans of Strictly Come Dancing were quick to praise him on Twitter. 

However, Helen was not so impressed as she had a ‘face like thunder’ and memes of her quickly went viral. 

Helen has now addressed the awkward moment, telling The Sun that although she knows he only has ‘her best interests at heart’, they need to speak about what he can say ‘publicly’.

‘What I love about Gorka is that he has my very best interests at heart, and we are genuinely very good friends,’ she told the publication.

‘But sometimes, maybe, we need to talk about what he’s allowed to say publicly…’ 

Helen recently opened up about how the end of her eight-year marriage to Richie Myler left her ‘battle-hardened’. 

And the TV presenter claimed that after her marriage had ended it was the ‘best’ time for her to join Strictly.

It was reported Helen’s estranged husband Richie is expecting a child with his new girlfriend Stephanie, six months after he split from Helen.

Richie ended his eight-year marriage to Countryfile host Helen back in April, just four months after she gave birth to their third child.

He is now expecting a baby with his new girlfriend Stephanie, 32, who he was first reported to be seeing just days after his split from Helen was revealed.

However, even after the split, the former couple is maintaining ‘cordial relations’ and Helen was reportedly told of the news before Stephanie announced it publicly on social media.

Richie who has two young sons Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and a daughter Elsie Kate, nine months, with his estranged wife Helen.  

Showed off his new relationship with Stephanie in May, just days after it was announced that his eight-year marriage to Helen was over.

Helen was said to feel ‘bewildered’ by the breakdown of her marriage, with a source close to the couple telling MailOnline: ‘Helen is absolutely devastated.’

They continued: ‘Now she is contemplating life without him while he has moved on with his new partner.’
