‘She jumped a mile!’: Hilarious video emerges of a very stunned Cheryl being spooked by excited fan while arriving for 2:22 A Ghost Story

She is currently starring as a leading role in a spooky West End play.

But Cheryl got a fright herself when she arrived at the Lyric Theatre in London on Wednesday night ahead of another successful performance on 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The singer, 39, jumped as she headed to the stage door after a fan flashed her camera.

Taking to Twitter, the user Cheryldreamsx, shared the moment Cheryl looked stunned.

They wrote: ‘Crying. Didn’t realise my flash went on! Sorry Cheryl’, before adding: ‘the flash went on, she jumped a mile… I was like “you okay? You seen a ghost?”.

Scared: The singer, 39, jumped as she headed to the stage door after a fan flashed her camera

Fellow fans of the Girls Aloud star said they were replaying the video because it was so funny.

One wrote: ‘I still keep watching this she so cute’, while another added: ‘poor girl her whole life flashed before her eyes’.

A third follower chimed: ‘Hahaha crying at this the genuine shock on her face lol’.

Cheryl wrapped up in a black coat and grey trousers as she was escorted out of the West End venue.

She was flanked by a security guard, following a reported terrifying stalker ordeal in which ‘disgusting’ notes were left for her at the theatre.

The Call My Name songstress wore her brunette waves loose down her shoulders while a dewy make-up palette made her flawless complexion glow.

She completed her look with black shoes and kept warm with a matching scarf.

Cheryl waved goodbye to her adoring fans as she climbed into a car, which had been waiting by the stage door.

The actress’s performances have reportedly been blighted though after ‘disgusting’ notes were left for her at the theatre.

A source told The Sun: ‘There’s at least one nutter who has been sending some pretty disgusting and disturbing messages.

‘She hasn’t been shown them but they’re included with the flowers people leave after performances.

‘Cheryl has enough to think about on stage to a packed theatre each night without having to think about that too, but steps have been taken to ramp up security and put her mind at rest.’

It’s been reported that Cheryl has a team of her own security monitoring her movements and escorting her everywhere, while she has a car waiting for her outside the stage door to whisk her back to her Buckinghamshire home.

A representative for Cheryl was contacted by MailOnline at the time.

Last week Cheryl’s co-star Jake Wood said the theatre newcomer has been ‘fearless’ in her approach to her West End debut.

The former EastEnders actor, 50, reprised his role as Ben in the supernatural thriller after People Just Do Nothing’s Hugo Chegwin withdrew from the show due to illness during rehearsals.

Cheryl portrays Jenny in the play and Jake insists she has been ‘remarkable’ given that she has no previous acting experience.

He told The Mirror: ‘I’m sure Cheryl felt the pressure but, after years in the industry, I think she’s pretty fearless.

‘It’s quite remarkable to see someone who has never acted before come on stage at the West End, she is in the spotlight, with all that pressure.

‘It’s quite amazing how resilient she is, really. And she is giving amazing performances, people are blown away by how good she is.’
