Holly Willoughby dishes out advice  on 'orgasm anxiety'

Holly Willoughby emulates ‘lifestyle guru’ Gwyneth Paltrow by offering advice on ‘orgasm anxiety’ and even makes an X-rated quip about ‘sh***ing the Duke from Bridgerton’ in candid new blog post

Holly Willoughby has dished out advice about overcoming ‘orgasm anxiety’ in a candid new post on her Wylde Moon blog.

The This Morning star, 42, who started her lifestyle brand two years ago, offered guidance to her followers who may be ‘over-thinkers’ in the bedroom and struggled  to reach that ‘elusive climax’ as she insisted they were ‘not alone’ in their plight.

Going on to address her readers, Holly observed how TV and film is saturated with  sex scenes and people enjoying a ‘fantastic sex life’ before going on to make a rather X-rated comments about ‘sh***ing the Duke from Bridgerton’.

She is of course referring to heartthrob Rege-Jean Page in the Netflix period drama, in which he embarked on several steamy sex scenes with onscreen lover Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor).

Holly wrote: ‘We’re all friends here, so I’m going to get straight to it; do you ever find yourself feeling frustrated, stressed, or anxious because you just can’t seem to reach orgasm? Or maybe you can have a wonderful time when you’re on your own, but with a partner you never quite manage to experience the same feelings? You’re not alone.’

She went on to add of sex on screens: ‘It seems like we’re constantly surrounded by TV shows, film scenes and stories of everybody having a fantastic sex life, doesn’t it?

‘When a show or a film has a scripted sex scene with a straight couple, all it seems to take is a man unzipping his fly for a woman to start to feel herself in the throes of orgasm, which, to be fair, could be a reasonable representation of shagging the Duke from Bridgerton…’

The presenter added that all the ‘gasping gals’ on TV do not to much to ‘reassure’ people who find reaching orgasm a challenge.

Holly then discussed ‘orgasm anxiety’ further, referring to research which states that only 50% of women orgasm, suggesting that it was their apprehension in the bedroom that was holding them back.

She shared: ‘It’s that nagging feeling in the back of your mind that tells you that you’re not doing something right or that you’re broken because you can’t reach orgasm like everyone else seems to. It’s the pressure you put on yourself to perform, the fear of disappointing yourself or your partner, and generally being so distracted during sex that you’ll never end up reaching orgasm anyway… and so the cycle continues.’

She went on to say that there was ‘no such thing as normal orgasms’, before handing over to Love Honey’s sex expert Sarah Mulindwa to share her tips.

It comes after it was revealed that Holly ‘is poised for a bumper new pay deal with ITV’ when she returns to a rejigged This Morning on September 4.

The presenter is currently on her summer break, with Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle currently taking care of hosting duties during her absence.

But it’s understood she’s in line for a £300,000 pay-rise, with her yearly salary – an estimated £700,000 – boosted to £1million when she returns to a rotating stable of presenters.

As exclusively revealed by MailOnline, Welsh presenter Steve Jones is also expected to join the team over the summer as ITV endeavour to move on from the abrupt departure of Holly’s long-term co-host Phillip Schofield.

A source told The Sun On Sunday: ‘Holly is at the heart of the show’s future and success and ITV execs want her to steer a steady ship out of a rocky year. It’ll be a strong start with Alison, kicking off as a dream team.

‘Holly’s pay deal is up for negotiation in a few months so they are putting together a lucrative package that will reflect her added responsibility without Phil, and they are prepared to go up to £1million a year.’

Old times: ITV is endeavouring to move on from the abrupt departure of Holly’s long-term co-host Phillip Schofield earlier this year

It is believed that Holly will line-up alongside Alison Hammond for her first two shows in September, with hosts including Jones also expected to feature at a later date.

ITV are understood to have spent £250,000 on revamping the beleaguered show, with one new segment giving fashion expert Gok Wan the opportunity to travel the UK for doorstep makeovers.

The source added: ‘They are giving the show a massive push with really positive, fun stories, nothing dark or depressing.

‘Producers will splash the cash on showbiz guests, and exclusive human interest stories. Viewers can expect lots of glitz and glamour. But Holly will definitely be the jewel in their crown.’
