Ali Bastian, 41, welcomed her second daughter Isabella in February with her West End actor husband David O’Mahony, 40.
The couple are already parents to daughter Isla, three, but have spoken in a new interview about their second daughter’s worrying birth.
Ali detailed the “overwhelmingly emotional” birth of her second daughter on February 11 via caesarean section at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
The “emotional rollercoaster” birth story saw the couple show up for a pre-booked C-section at the hospital on February 9, only to be turned away due to a lack of space.
However, Ali has gestational diabetes and her blood sugar levels began to drop very low, leaving the couple to stay at the hospital until later that day.
When Ali returned to the hospital two days later, the actress had gone hypoglycaemic as her blood sugar levels had dropped.
After the injection of sugar, she was rushed to the theatre, but this was not the end of the complications.
She said to OK! magazine: “Isabella was in a really awkward position so it was quite a struggle to get her out.
“She was a little bit black and blue when she came out. She had bruises on one side of her face and a little cut on the other side from the forceps.
